what is a liquid
Liquids have a definite volume but no definite shape. If you have a glass of water and pour it into a wider glass, the liquid will take the shape of the container. It will not have a different volume. The same amount of water is in the new glass, but the liquid isn't the same shape.

The molecules in a liquid are close together,
but as you can see, they are not in a neat pattern. The molecules can move past each other easily. The next time you're drinking something, think about the molecules inside of a liquid.

Examples of liquids
As you know, everything that you drink is a liquid. Lemonade, juice, milk, etc. But there are many other liquids such as the blood in your body and rain.
